South of Gravel Pit
Caught 15 and kept 12 casting small hammered gold weapons Monday evening from 5:30 - 8:30. Also caught a half dozen catfish. All fish caught on the bottom with a very slow retrieve - actually working the lure back and forth just reeling to keep it off the bottom. A lot of fat in all the fish when we cleaned them.

I know this has probably been answered many times but where is the gravel pit? I can't find it on the NOAA maps.
My wife and I are going to spend the weekend in Port Clinton fishing and we want to get some perch and walleyes for the freezer.

Look NE out of Cooley canal appx 6 miles and you'll see an area of slightly shallower water. Those are the gravel beds. Old charter buddy used to say 30 degrees 6 miles. By the way nice catch. Hope to have my boat fixed soon and get out there.
