Mouth of the Maumee

Went over to my local marina to pick up a couple new batteries for our boat the other day, and the owner who I have known for a couple yrs, was telling me that he has a buddy over by lake erie. Anyways he went on to tell me that they have been getting the walleyes around the mouth of the maumee since december. I live a little over two hours away, and was wondering if any of u guys w/ more experience could put any truth to that? thanks for any info.

They have been catching eyes all over the lake this warm winter. The moputh will be where they stack up for the run but i've really never caught many there. It seems they aren't very active there this time of year.

I live right at ther mouth of the Maumee and the fish do stack up their on the Mud humps on the side of the channel but I havent heard of anyone catching any fish their yet... I know alot of guys that fish the lake and havent heard any reports of fish being cought around here yet..Seems like the fish getting cought are out the reefs..
