I had a friend who years ago was concentrating on the trolling lines and not his position on the lake when he found Crib Reef the hard way. Mind you, he had over 30 years on the lake and he lost his lower unit on his Grady White and had to call for a tow. It's not something he talks about and I am wise enough to not bring his misfortune into any conversation. GPS and graphs on a screen are only as good as the skipper watching and understanding them. "Be safe out there" has a whole new meaning.

Dr. Ed, I found that 2-3 foot spot last May with my lower unit. fortunately I was using my trolling motor. I was hung up for a bit. I almost had to get out and push but was able to get it worked loose and trim up my motor. It surprised the heck out of me it sneaks up on you fast. I had Navonics on but didn't pay attention good enough, plus it was after dark. Its a good fishing spot though!! lol
I suppose that whole reef is chock full of Zebra Muscles.. No bare feet i'd say.
