A buddy and I drove almost 3 hours to load my boat and bring it back from Foxhaven Marine on Sunday. We arrived around noon and the wind was blowing pretty hard but we said "what the heck, let's give it a try". I decided that we would try middle harbor shoal because it would be protected from the west winds. Tried starting the kicker motor but no luck so I said let's see how fast we drift. Well as luck would have it we were drifting right around 1.3 mph so we put out planer boards and put on deep husky jerks back 15 ft. To make along story short we managed 8 nice walleye with the biggest being around 6 lbs. We were pulling the boat at 5:30 for the trip home. What an awesome day!!
