Minnows
I heard something today I want to make sure is true. I heard the state is not allowing minnow nets to be used to catch minnows from Toledo out towards Port Clinton. They are catching to many baby minnows. I'm planning on fishing this weekend and want to make sure I will be able to find minnows.

I have never heard of that happening "Ever"!
Every year there are YOY Emerald Shiners (commonly called Pinheads) caught and sold as bait. Although they are small they will most generally out fish the substitute minnows that are trucked in(Golden Shiners and Fathead minnows). Not saying your source of information is wrong but having fished the lake for more years than I care to remember I find that hard to believe. Best to call the bait shops and ask, most have a web page with their contact information listed.Wakina

Full moon this weekend, so minnows will likely be in short supply. It's supposed to be cloudy overnight so they might get some. They've had frozen ones at some of the bait shops.
