East Harbor Question
Hey everybody,
We wanted to take the dogs and family out for some pleasure cruising, tubing, and maybe some bluegill fishing. Is East Harbor deep enough to tool around in on a 19' with an I/O? My one chart shows lots of 2-3 feet areas but last time we were out that way I saw some bigger boats cruising through. Also, are there any good areas to try for some bluegill and crappie in there?
Thanks

Yes, it's deep enough to tube and run around in. I dock in East Harbour and run through there all the time. The water is up right now due to the heavy June rains we received. You will find mostly 4-5 ft throughout the harbor. The most important thing, is to watch out for the dredging pipe. It is marked by orange cannon balls, and right now it is strung out across the southwest end of the harbour. DO NOT try and cross over it, or you will take out your lower unit! I would recommend taking a nice easy cruise of the harbor to get the lay of it, before you really start getting into the throttle. There are a few shallower spots, but like I said - mostly 4-5 ft.
