I have been fishing off Kelleys and the Bass islands for the past 35 years, So far this year has ranks near the very top as one of the worst for perching. The poor weather, lack of emerald shiners, and the yellows just not willing to cooperate have combined to make it so. I'm hoping that the emerald shiners situation gets squared away and we get back to catching the customary limits in September and October. Otherwise I will have an empty freezer this winter.

Beautiful weather and perfect lake conditions this morning. But no emeralds at either Ruckards or Hi-way bait stores. Only Goldie's.
