Huron 7-11-15
Launched out of Huron this morning about 6:30. Wasted about an hour in 24fow then moved into an area I call the shelf, just west of the mouth of the river. Had 11 nice walleye by 9:30 then the bite just shut off. Kinda surprised at how big the fish were, and almost no junk fish with a few real big cats. 6 of the fish came off deep little rippers 50 back and the other 5 came off #5 colarado pink egg worm harnesses 23 fb around 2.1mph. You had to stay up on the shelf in 12 to 14 fow and tick the top of the humps, the fish down in the dropoff just wouldn't bite. Anybody know what's covering the bottom 5' of the water in that area?

probably the midge hatch, they were terrible north of Kelly's yesterday. Good thing the walleye cooperated. At times you couldn't breath, had a handkerchief over face all day, Shew, almost not worth it but we stuck it out.

oops, my fault, 24.7N/33.9W. Good luck finding 12fow at 42.7...lol. and was using 2oz inlines with the harnesses. Fished southwest and west of west sister today, marked tons of fish but caught mostly junk....should have went back to Huron!

the water in huron is finally starting to clear up since the main blow. we should be able to get those in close fish to bite again.

penalty box, If the water cleans up, I always move back to the shallows mid summer. Everybody wants to go deep, but I've found that the fish always move back in after the mayflys are done, just got to turn the speed up to get them to bite. Monday night dragged crawler harnesses at 2.3mph in 14fow in front of crane creek, caught 10 in 2 hrs, but too muddy right now. If the weathers right, I think i'll go back to Huron thurs. morning unless it cleans up in front of crane creek.
