No pissing matches about this please, I am just passing this on for your information and it is not my opinion which I am not offering at this time!!!! Here is some insight on what is occurring with the last couple of years of recruitment of walleye, please read the 3rd post authored by Tory Gabriel, Ohio Sea Grant.

Seems like good news to me. 2014 best hatch since 2003 and it seems like we've had a decent hatch every 3 years. Not sure how this news can turn into a pissing match but then again nothing really surprises me anymore.
Thanks for posting the information!

Thanks Wakina,
We also caught 2 walleye that had to measure 5 or 6 inches. Ive never seen them that small, laid right in my hand. Reminded me of Pike minnows. But that was encouraging to see. Right out in 18 FOW, hangin with the big fish, eating the same stuff. Put those 2 back gently and gave them a minute to breath and swim away. Also happy that those 2 were not more white bass, LOL.

I haven't gotten and 6 to 8 inch walleye this year but i'm fishing further east than you guys, but back in 2012 I was fishing kelley's island ferry channel for most of may and part of june that year we got a ton of those 6 to 8 inch walleyes.

We caught at least a dozen fingerlings and another 15-20 that were 14-15 1/2" or just under Saturday around Kelley's.
