Getting on the ferry at mabel head I believe at 7 am on Fri. Do we have to worry about bringing crawlers with us our can count on the shops having flats there? And were would you guys recommend for us to stop and get some sound advice and purchase bait and some tackel from. As always I have two much stuff as it is but I always like to spend some money in the area and do a little bs ing. Thanks in advance.

Not sure they sell bait on Island, but Hi-Way Bait & Tackle will have everything you need. You will be going right past it on way to ferry.

Good advice from Larry. Buying bait on Kelleys can be iffy. Kyle at Craft's landing has bait sometimes. Play it safe and stop at HiWay bait.

Play it safe and stop at HiWay Bait or Rickards. HiWay Bait is on Rt. 163 a few miles west of the ferry. Rickards is at the corner of 163 and Rt. 53. Both are fully stocked bait stores with tackle info on current fishing. There is a general store on Kellys but I don't know how much bait/tackle they have. Probably not much.
