2015 fishing

Well.for those who are not ice fisherman we are getting close.Hoping this year is as good as last.If you all remember we had a late ice out last year and fishing was great.Mmaybe it had to do with the water staying cooler longer.I don't know.but I was still using hair jigs memorial day weekend and killing them while others were casting..all I know is I'm ready .... Congrats to all the ice fisherman that have been tearing them up through the ice, but let's get rid of the ice, get the boats in, and start jigging.good luck to all and be safe out there.

I can't wait either. My bags are already packed for the weekend of April 18-19. Will be spending the afternoon of the 17th waist deep in the Maumee!

Curious... How and where were you fishing those hair jigs as late as Memorial Day?

Right off edges of reefs.also killed them just east of mouse island off edge of shoal.

Keep the jigs handy all the way through may.alot of people start casting in may.those fish are still pounding jigs.esp.on sunny or heavy boat traffic days.laying right on bottom.
