new users
Whats up with all of the new members signed in and everyone of them are not actively searching or even reading any of the threads. The only ones who are actually viewing threads are the regular users who are easy to recognize.
Right now there are 84 members signed in and all but 2 are Viewing the Index for walleye.com Forums. It has been like that for several hours.
I randomly clicked on about 25 of the members to view their profile and everyone of them had just signed up on 12/04/2014.
Is anyone else curious? I remember when all the porn showed up on this site and wanted to warn everyone that I feel something is going on with walleye.com. Guard your personal information diligently for at least awhile, no sense taking chances.Wakina

The [about me] portion of their profiles don't make much sense either for a fishing site

I direct other fisherman from the Michigan sportsman site here when they are interested in fishing more Ohio waters as this site has a lot of great guys with good info. Over the years a few have become helpful posters as they learn and want to help others. Not much going on over here in Brestbay so a lot are heading to Huron.
Hopefully that is one of the reasons and not the spammers again like we have had in the past.
If any of you's want/plan to fish Michigan waters Great lakes or inland, I suggest you join the Michigan sportsman forums as most are helpful just like here. Saginaw is also an awesome fishery both the river and lake, just not as many big fish, but plenty of fish. A lot of ice fishing both the river and the bay even when Erie hasn't froze over.I can only hope I have earned the freedom that has been given me.

I sent a PM to Walleye_Rick and here is his reply! I sent this last night and was answered today. I had been noticing things changing for the last several weeks and also noticed a huge increase in the number of people registering.
Here is the reply and followed by the original PM. So be forewarned.

Yes, the site was hacked and it's been a nightmare. Trying to get back to normal. Thanks for your patience.

Hi all,
Yes, our site was once again hacked and the 'bots' were able to register thousands of illegitimate users in just a few days.
I think we have this under control (at least for now). We've had to add several new fields to the registration process which will be somewhat of a pain for new users but it will slow down the spammers, hopefully.
Sorry for this inconvenience.
