frozen and salted shinners
What is the best way to salt and freeze minnows?

The key to salt and freezing the minnows is to do it while they are still firm and alive. I drain them and place a bunch in a ziplock bag then pour in the salt, mix it up and freeze. They will be firm and no smell if they are froze while still fresh.
