Downriggers
I am currently looking into the purchase of two Cannon's Uni-troll HP's to add to my boat. These are manual riggers which is fine, that is what I am looking for. I have searched the web for pro's and con's on these units but cannot find
any. These will probably used for a few trips for salmon and a number of trips
for eye's. Besides the 2 riggers the package comes with wts. rods and reels,
releases, and mounts and the price is more than reasonable. Just need some
views on it.

Downriggers
I can only comment on my experience. I have had BigJon Sportsman electric downriggers on my boat for years. I had manual Invader riggers before and there is no comparison. With only a 2 foot boom, hookups to the release on the balls are easy. And I only use 6 lb. balls. Easy on the riggers and easy to retrieve and handle. These downriggers are easy to install and have never given me any trouble. With the digital counter guesswork is gone and with the proper presentation the fish come fast and furious even in the shallow waters of the western basin.

I use 2 Mag 5's and 2 Unitrol's both work fine. For fishing Erie I think manuals are a bit easier as the depths you fish are so shallow. If your fishing 120' down in Lake Michigan, manuals are not such a good choice. I would buy Cannons again no question.
