What's difference between shoal & reef?
I have been reading your reports for past couple of years.
I would like to thank all if you for doing so. I only fish for walleye
During the spring jig bite. Therefore I normally only post
In the spring. After that I am chasing bass all over Ohio
Indiana and Michigan. I am interested in trying for some walleye
After dark. But before I do I have a Couple of questions
When guys say dark they talking about early morning 3am till sunrise
Or they talking about late like 8pm till midnight. All is all if it good?
What lures do guys throw?
Also what is difference between a shoal and reef?

A Shoal is an shallow outcropping of Rock, sand that extends underwater which has its origin on dry land extending out into and under the water which may or may not be a boating hazzard. A reef is a structure that rises up from the bottom a has no connection to any dry land.

Either morning or evening bite tends to be the best fishing for eyes. Their eyes are more light sensative than most fish, so this time frame affords them a big advantage. Pearch have such poor night vision that they do not eat at all at night, making them a prime target for eyes. Full and no moon morning or evening fishing tends to be when the largest eyes are caught. I fish reservoirs for wall eyes and saugeyes the most part, eyes seem to be a lot more active in Erie in the daytime than they do in reservoirs.
