    Default Night Fishing

I have night fished the Islands area for about 60 years now and here are my thoughts to your questions. To begin with, yes it is one of the most productive methods of fishing you can use there now. Keep these thoughts in mind.

    1. Find the shallowest water you can that is surrounded by deeper water for the fish to come up from.

    2. When you pick your spot anchor, do not drift.

    3. longer minnow type crank baits such as count down or floating Rapalas. work great. Keep your retrieves ultra slow.

    4. Oraganize the boat before it gets dark so you know where things are. Don't move around too much with other guys casting around you, it gets dangerous with those big lures in the dark.

Places that come to mind are the south side of the rattles at Rattlesnake. again get in close about 5-6 feet of water, the reef west of North Bass on the hump about 5 feet deep. Close in on the north side of North Bass.

Usually just after dark in these areas you will encounter smallmouth then the walleyes. and as mentioned you will hear them on the surface. They will work very shallow water and on top feeding. I usually find the best fishing to start about and hour after dark. It is not uncommon to have a limit of fish in a half hour.

Oh and check your line and retie if need after every fish.

Keep two lights handy, one small one for working on you lure line etc. and a big one in case something bad happens and you need to see a guy in the water etc.

Hope this answers at least some of the questions, above all safety is more of a concern in the dark than on a bright sunny day.

    Default Lazy it is

The spot was Lake Erie . gave the depth and baits . Wont give the exact spot as these are spots I grew up night fishing with my dad and grandfather for over 40 years and both since have passed. Sorry you feel that I owe it to you to tell you where these hard found spots are .
Once again if you know anything about lake erie and own a map of the Lake there are hundreds of spots that could hold fish at night .

Next time to make it easier for all you cry babies , how about we catch the fish and just give them to you . Wont get any easier then that for you ???
    Good Fishing

PS . Thanks for the PM's asking questions and understanding .. Have fun fishing the packs !!!!

Actually this guy sounds exactly like a former member who went by the name of WalleyeWhacker or a very similar spelling. The WalleyeWhacker also stirred up controversy and made fun of other members abilities as a whole. He had a particular dislike for one of the Charter services now on this site who was here at that time also, by the way this Charter Service does post open spots and charters for walk on and group charters to fill their openings. WalleyeWhacker also gave false reports then laughed at people for listening to him. With that being said I certainly hope none of the members of this forum takes fishhead315's fishing reports seriously, as he obviously has a personality disorder that makes it difficult for him to live in the world as it really is, as opposed to living in a world as he wants it to be!!!! Is he the old WalleyeWhacker? Who knows but he acts and sounds just like him and enjoys be-littling people and obviously has some of the same character flaws.

Truth be known fishhead315 has not posted anything helpful or useful because, he is on this site for only 2 reasons. Reason 1 is to stir up controversy and reason 2 is to get all of the relevant and the latest info on the latest hot bite. My reasoning on this is that someone or anyone who has the knowledge and experience to make the claims that he has would not need this site in the first place, especially since he has said that those on here asking questions and getting fishing information and reports ~~~

Quote I remember the days of going out and finding your own fish and catching them . Thats why it called fishing not catching . So many people count on the reports because of being lazy and not truely knowing how to fish . The only way they catch fish is by running to other peoples spots . That is not truely being a fisherman if you cant find and catch your own fish . Disagree all you want but wrong is wrong no matter what !!! Unquote

These are fishhead315's words not mine and not yours or any other member's for that matter but are the words of fishhead315. So there are no valid reasons for fishhead315 to even bother being a member of this forum he obviously dislikes everyone who reads and uses the reports or asks fishing questions and came here to relieve his personal internal conflict.
