Finally got my boat in the water and fished C and D Cans from 11:30am - 3:30pm yesterday. Slow going, but felt great to be on the water....finally. Got 3 in the boat (2 on RR's and 1 on DDHJ). All were spawned out females weighting 7lbs, 8lbs and 9.6lbs respectively! Bare Naked and Bare Naked Blue did the trick at 40-50ft back, 1.7 mph.
By the time I got to Catawba State Park to launch, there was not a single parking spot to be had. Never seen it so crowded. Waited a few mins for a boat to come in off the water and asked if I could have their spot. Lucked out bigtime as I talked to one guy who said he waited over an hour for a parking spot.
There were 3 Armed State Officers checking boats as they returned yesterday. Got my 2013 sticker after the usual annual inspection. All good!! Make sure you are legal and safe out there.

Anyway.........onwards and upwards for a great Walleye season.
