Navionics chip
I just purchased a lowrance elite 7 hdi and was wondering what chip would be best suited for Lake Erie they were sold out at the new cabelas in Columbus and got some opinions from the salesman but I was just curious what fellow walleye.com members prefer thanks

Navionics Maps.
240Fisherman, look at one of Wakina's post he has the chip # on his thred, and I looked at the # on Navionics web site and that is the best one for Lake Erie, And that will fit our ELITE 7, I also bought one, can't wait to use it on the water.Been playing around with it on simulater mode, just to get some knowledge about how things work before hitting the water.

Question on the Navionics maps....
Last year I bought an Elite 5 DSI unit. It has maps loaded in it, water depths, etc. Is there an added benefit to purchasing a Navionics chip add-on ? Will it enhance anything or show more specifics ?Rookie Perch fisher, veteran Perch eater.

Elite 7
I used 2 wires with alligator clips and hooked the positive clip to the power pin in the plug and the negative to the ground pin in the plug, pressed the power on, and then went to simulated mode , and played around with the unit. Wife didn't think to much of the battery in the house, but hey, she got over it!! You don't need the transducer hooked up for the SIM.mode. Works sweet, try it. Any questions, just ask, the manuals tells you the POS. and NEG. in the plug, be carefully not to cross the wires, might short out unit. I rebuild alternators & starters for a living so this was a walk in the grass for me. PAP.
