Lake Trout off Catawba
I have a friend that works in Law Enforcement that has some connections with the wildlife guys up around the Lake. In recent conversation with him, he had heard that the ODNR may have dumped a substantial amount of lake trout fingerlings off of Catawba this fall. Supposedly a federal fishery in Pennsylvania had a surplus of 120,000 Laker fingerlings and were either given or bought by Ohio. 80,000 were stocked off Catawba and the remaining 40,000 were released east of Cleveland. Can anyone out there confirm or deny this?
Thanks!

This is the actual press release from the ODNR DOW.

I don't think they expect much, but we'll see if this helps with them imprinting to the reefs and re-establishing natural reproduction.

I read the article, how long do you think it took to tag 120,000 fish?

WE pay for those phones!.....i guess it is now a new entitlement that a cell phone is an automatic right
i could be wrong, but i was once told there is a slight charge amount we all pay on our cell bills to cover this...not much money for one but when you multiply the number of users, well you get the idea!

Help me understand what Lake Trout have to do with phones? Must have missed that.
In any case, I am glad the hatchery had a good growing season which led to the surplus, glad to get the fish, and hope they imprint and successfully reproduce. Nice that they tagged them and will be able to follow their progress and get the research data.
