I was wondering if this launch has nice dock and a launch ramp? also if Im launching out of Meinkes would I have to be careful coming out into the lake for shallow points and submerged objects. Ill be heading over west sister island . Thanks in advance

Yes Meinkes ramp is nice, it costs $5.00 to ramp it. Meinkes East is free but its farther East of West Sister. Good luck. Fredster

i launched there for years. its a great place to enter the lake. you come out just south of the intake for the power plant. back before the water got cleared up we use to start fishing just past the intake. but i think its like 9 miles from where you enter the lake to west sister. its the closest ramp i know of if your wanting to fish around west sister.
we were usely in a small boat and i liked the idea that if we ever got caught in a bad storm we could go to the island to ride out the storm. we have fished all around the island and over to the shipping chanel and fished it to the turn around. there use to be some good fishing in that area. good luck have fun and be safe.
