You may want to go to a little bit shorter ropes but at 6 foot in a 30 foot starcraft we have never had a problem outside of the back rope not being on the cleat (my fault totally). Playing with the bags is half the battle with trolling and those side bags are a whole lot easier to mess with then 2 60+ inch bags hanging off the back. Put a couple extra knots in that rope going to he back cleat and you can partially drop a bag by hooking it on rod holders. The possibilities are unlimited, I could not even count how many times I have played with bags on a typical day, it is part of the game, don't be afraid of them use them as a tool.
