Sidewinder Planer Board?
Has anyone ever used a Side Winder Planer board? This is a link to a web site.
http://www.brettsplaceonthebay.com/s...not-the-board/ It looks easy enough and eliminates the need to remove an inline planer board from your line to finish reeling in the fish. I was contemplating trying them, but didn't want to waste my time if someone else has had a bad experience with them.Last edited by qspman; 04-02-2012 at 02:59 PM. Reason: corrected web site link

Probably would not be able to pull any of the larger jets or larger inline or snap wts for harness fishing either. They probably work best with bare crank baits. May work really well for the spring crank bait fishing.

I myself would save the money on those. Look at the one video where there is like a one foot chop. That board is already bouncing like crazy. Imagine what it would do, like the one poster said, in three footers on erie. Keep your money in your pocket!

Just tried one for the first time on the weekend. Worked great for me, though it was calm waters, but made it easier to troll 3 lines in my kayak.

Repetition is key to learning
If you use the TX-22 boards by Church Tackle Co with new 20 lb Trilene XT mono you should have no problems and if the line doesn't break, you cannot lose the board. (Woody is going to kill me for recommending a product made
"up North"). Please forgive me Coach.

Some how right after buying the TX 22 boards my son failed to get the line in the pin slot on the back of the board and we lost the board. But due to the boards floating upright we were able to find it and retrieve it in short order. Sure made the job alot easier with it in the upright position as we could spot it from some distance away!
