maumee river
This may be a stupid question. but why does't anyone troll for walleye on the maumee river from downtown Toledo area before they get to the fortmeigs area to spawn? There's only one way up or down.

I have tried fishing the maumee river from shore and wading, there are a ton of snags in that river whether it is logs or fishing line from people that have snaggged before you. There was a lot of re-tying. I can't imagine trolling because of all of the snags? but i'm by far no expert.
