Walleye in Lake Erie have tested above World Health Organization standards for toxic chemicals from the algae. I have cut way back on consumption, especially after algae blooms start. Chemicals in blue-green algae have been linked to Parkinson's, Alzheimers and other neurological disorders. Check out this link to a story in the Columbus Dispatch:
