Oh dnr
I've got a call in to Jeff at the OH DNR. I'll post the response when I talk to him tomorrow. Quite weird though

Dead walleye on lake erie
i was on by the reefs on the western basin all weekend sat fished for eye caught none, sunday got 60 jumbo perch out by niagra. But throught the weekend i must have seen 250 dead walleye of all sizes. Left from wildwings and see an floater about ever 1/4 mile. I have fished the lake for 30 years and never seen this many dead fish before. So i do not beleive them all the be net caught, there is no way net caught fish would be all over the lake. I heard reports form other places saying the same thing.
the only eyes seen were the floaters. I gues the mud could cause this like others said but the only fish i seen floating was walleye so i think other fish would had been effected too?
Any other ideas DNR please help us out here and give us some info. Anything the fishing ppl can to help?
