We fished yesterday, Thursday June 25 th NE of Kelly's just over the line in Canadian waters.Johns son Chris joined us.It had been 5wks since I last fished.Johns' wife likes to stay home and have John take care of her.John prefers to drive up from Zanesville on weekends and enjoy his club and fish off the nice boat he has.His wife devised a dastardly plan to keep him from headed up fishing.She scheduled a 2wk European cruise for them right in the middle of the best fishing.Then schedule the flights on both weekends to effectively prevent him from fishing for 4 wk.Throw in a blow weekend and it was 5 wks.I was developing a serious case of withdrawals from being away from the lake.My mind was going blank and I was walking around in a zombie like stupor.Yesterday I came out of my trance as I put that first line in the water.....I'm finally back! Anyway most of the rain yesterday morning missed us and only had to deal with a few light sprinkles.We had 4 dipseys out with 3 setting at 60-70 and 1 setting at 45-55.Had a couple spoons,spoon harness and a worm burner on the dipseys.Monkey puke was the color.On our 2 boards had a harness and spoon on glow trutrip 40s at 75 and 80.Everything caught and speed was 2.3-2.5.Took us 3hrs to put our 18 in the box.,Weight 44 lbs.We sorted at around 17-18".Nothing big.Just good eaters and only one small sheephead clearing the lines.We finished right after the wind picked up at 9am.Great to be back out fishing again.
