    Default Saturday Report 5-9-26

I made the trip to the lake saturday morning for the first open water trip of the year for me. We decided to head out north of Kelly's and see what was happening. Started out off of the northwest corner in 20 some foot of water and began our drift with the wind to the northeast. Started fishing around 7:30 and was done around 11:00. All but one of our keepers was caught on the first drift. Drifted worm harnesses on bottom bouncers and I was casting a harness as well. The eyes I caught casting didn't seem to be hitting too hard, so maybe the worm bite is just starting, or maybe i'm just out of practice??? The fish bit pretty steady overall and we caught all males 16-22". Nothing big in the mix. A few cats, a couple sheephead, and various varieties of perch also came on board for a minute. Around noon the waves started building pretty good, so we slowly made our way back off the lake. Overall a great first day for the year, and looking forward to more trips this year.
