Casting bite has been very slow for the past week. You can catch fish but you will spend a lot of time on the water. Best spot has been along border. gold blades.
If you want fish in the cooler, you will have to troll, Purple and chartruese stingers has been the ticket. 40 jets at 65 - 75 back.
For those of you with high quality fish finders, tune the sensitivity up and you can begin to see the swarms of bug larva starting to hatch out. They appear to be static clouds bottom to 5 feet up, but they are actually larva. This is why the casting bite has been very slow. Cut open any walleye you catch and the brown dirt slim is the larva the fish are eating. Another week to 10 days and the may flys will be coming to the surface in droves and the casting bite will be on again.

Fished 6-5 four man limit and had 6 throwbacks. Fished on each side of the sputnik but more success past the sputnik as the day moved on. Jet divers and gold spoons were the ticket. 110' back on #20 jet divers. Fished from 26 fow (morning) to about 28 fow in the afternoon. Lots of boats in the area with lot of net moving. Saw some other folks at the Toledo beach marina cleaning station that had success in the same area wit hthe same technique.
