11/21/25 Walleye Report
We left Mazurik this morning and headed to 40 feet of water at Kelley Island Shoal. Used a mix of bandits, flicker minnows, reef runners and precision walleye cranks in various purples and blues. Set them at 145 unassisted and 50/30 with 2oz snap weights. Ran about 2.1mpg GPS speed. Sound familiar? Thanks, Juls! It was good advice.
But we were on the south side of the Shoal, actually starting out from Barnum Point and headed north and east. We marked some pods in about 36 fow just north of Barnum Point, and marked several fish here and there most of the way to the eastern green buoy of the Shoal. We turned around before we got that far. On our way back west and south, we finally picked up our first walleye. By the time we got back down to Barnum Point, there were 6 other boats there in about 42 fow. We spent the rest of the day northeast of Barnum Point, looping around in a 1.5 mile square in 38 - 43 fow. Marked a ton. They bit often enough to keep us interested. Additional colors that worked were a hot pink head with banana yellow tail, and a dark purple with dark green tiger stripes. Eventually 11 boats were trolling in the area, and most spent the whole day so I imagine they were catching some.
We ended up with 13 walleyes. Biggest was 23 inches. Had a few nice chunky ones. No throwbacks. And none lost! Just enough chop to start the day, and it was like glass by quitting time. It was a beautiful day on the lake. I think this is a wrap on 2025 for us.
FYI, the Mazurik cleaning station was locked up again and the dock light was out.Last edited by gb1234; 11-22-2025 at 04:03 PM.

Looks like Barnum point is off the airport on the east side of Kelly's.Didnt know the name of that point either.Has nice rocky structure off that point too when we fished it in the past.

Re: 11/21/25 Walleye Report
Take your pick...
The point is about a half a mile south of the airport runway.
Google Maps calls it Barnums Point.
The Kelley Island web site calls it East Point.
Mapquest shows Martins Point Road there.
