I try to minimize the smaller fish on the hook by using a size #4 instead of #6 or smaller. The larger hooks won't fit in the smaller fishes mouth.
I haven't been out this year for perch yet.
Boy if they are eating gobies, I may try a ned rig next time out. I usually get a first trip in labor day weekend.
