The wife and I went out for a little fishing late this morning. We haven’t been out in a while. I haven’t seen anything about fishing the reef complex so just headed to locust reef. We took a slow ride over the corner of the reef looking for fish but didn’t see enough to make me fish there. We ran out to big pickerel reef and marked some fish so I set up for a drift back with the northeast wind. I caught a 21” eye on my first cast. Over the next 2 hours, I picked up 4 more but my wife only caught sheepshead. She must’ve caught a dozen. I caught one short and a catfish and a couple sheepshead. My wife was fishing with a bottom bouncer and white /chartreuse beaded harness. I had the same except I was casting with a 3/4 ounce sinker on my harness. Fish were pretty tight to the bottom. I was using a 12 count in 23 feet of water and kept it down but not dragging. Fish were very nice. 19 - 21 inches.
