Draggin the Line with John 8/13
John and I fished Sunday north of Kellies. Was a tough bite for us. Fished for 6hrs and only managed 8 fish that weighed 17lbs.Biggest was 23" and got a 12"yellow perch too. Program that worked for us was the same as last week, when we fished near the weather Bouy. Had 4 dipseys out at 3/80 and 85 with double willow gold blades and 1 setting at 65 and 60 with J7. The dipseys caught all our keepers except one on a crank. Had 2 inline boards out the whole time with an assortment of cranks and leads and only managed one keeper, Speed was 2.1-2.5mph.

Re: Draggin the Line with John 8/13
You are correct, the double willow are worm harnesses. We were fishing in 42-49 fow yesterday. We did not try any spoons though. Saw your post Mike and was surprised that bite slowed that much already. I would have suggested another long run east or Canada, but John was tired from a long drive.Dont have my chart here at work, but 15 miles sounds about right for how far east of Kellies, the weather buoy is located. Bouy numbers are 40/23.

We have been to the bouy twice in the last few weeks and limited both times. The second time most recently we had to deploy the old faithful reef runners. They wouldn't touch a bandit

I think 15 miles is about right also. I too was surprised the bite slowed that much. But since we were still marking I'm writing it off to the storms. Generally that area is consistent all summer.
I'll post next time I get over there, most likely Wednesday - fingers crossed.Mike
