Early April
Well, the cabin fever seems to remain pretty steady for me with the uncertainty I see of cold weather forecasts, high winds, muddy water and reports of debris. The lake looks like chocolate milk now according to NOAA. I'm checking the sites every day...LOL. I noticed mentions in previous posts by Slim and Coho that early April was typically very good. So, I booked a room for the first week returning home on Easter Sunday. I enjoyed sharing info last year with a couple good folks on this forum like Markle and Kingfisher22. If anyone is interested in a little info exchange during that week in April, just let me know. I'll offer up my celll #. Also, thank you again so much to the Captains here who continue to offer so much to us on where to start and what is working!
What a fishery. Tight lines and safe fishing to everyone!

Re: Early April
where are you going out at? Are you trolling with bandits or jigging?

Re: Early April
Likely Catawba. I'll search around from the humps around the cans out to Green and up to West Reef to find them. If I don't do well on day 1 I'll go out of Mazurik's to deeper water. I'll be trolling Bandits and other stickbaits. Maybe even a cheater rig with a small spoon trailing a stickbait that only has 2 hooks. I understand you can only have 3 hooks maximum per line.

Re: Early April
Have had several great days out there but I still have a lot to learn on Mother Erie. And it sure is fun to have the chances to do it🙂

Re: Early April
Correct, only 3 hooks,
However, you shouldn't need a stinger spoon. Those areas should produce well that time of year.
Good luck!Mike

Re: Early April
Hey DW72, we will be there from 4/3-4/13. We are going to be mobile this year staying at at Airbnb about 45 minutes south of the lake. We plan on fishing anywhere between the firing range and Huron. Friend request sent. I’ll share info.
