Hair Jigs
Let me know if you have stumbled across any websites with good prices on hair jigs and stinger hooks. Tying my own last year seemed to cost more than the store. Tying a crawler harness on the other hand---fast and easy, better than the store and CHEAP!

prices
Here's the two places I've found locally that have decent prices. At Maumee Tackle they are $1.99/pc here's the sight:

As well I wend to edgewater bait store and they sell them for $2.69/pc.
Let me know if you can find better than $1.99 with shipping.

Make sure you all ask before ordering hairjigs, if they are powder painted and cured. Most $1.00 hair jigs are powder painted, but they are not put in a oven to cure. So a few bounces on the bottom rubbing on zebra muscles and all the paint is off after a few hours. MOST will say powder coated, but they dont take the time to cure them as they should. A true powder painted hair jig can be hit with a hammer and the paint will not chip, it will dent the jig.

We are having a jig sale right now and you can get 5 doz (60 jigs) 69.95 and we are offering free shipping on orders over $50.00 so your total cost would be $69.95 with stingers ... all powder painted jigs cured for 15min at 350 , super strong hooks (3x stronger than other hairjigs) and the best craft fur we can guarantee you cant get a better hairjig for the money or your money back if not satisfied

Hair Jigs
Something to note, NETCRAFT in Maumee has a new style Hair Jig with a thin stiff wire that attaches the main jig hook to the stinger hook. This keeps the stinger in line with the main hook shaft, elininates the wrapping of a stinger line around the main shaft and likely increases the hooking of the fish.
These stingers come attached to the jigs. There is another stinger sold that you attach to the jig (as it has been in the past). It has a fairly stiff line that helps eliminate the twist and wrap up of the original stinger leaders. If you already have a bunch of hair jigs, then these might be a good bet.
Anybody heading, please send in a report on how you do, how much debrie is in the water, etc.

Here is a tip to help get rid of the linetwist you can get when fishing the jigs especially with minnnows,Tie a swievel on your main line and use a three or four ft.leader down to the jig.Tried this last year and it works wonders!!!

Tying Jigs
I am not bad at tying my own flies---and har jigs. Still takes me 10 minutes or so if the 3 year old lets me. If I can buy jigs for a few cents more than what I can tie them for and Netcraft can teach me a better way to tie the stinger hook--than I am a happy camper.
Thanks for the advice.
My computer was not allowing me the contact info for the person who posted with $1 jigs---post your number so I can buy a few dozen.
