We had a good time with this crew of coworkers from all over the place, IL, OH, PA, WV. We had a rough ride out to the north of Kelly’s island with the NE wind and had a tough time trying to fish today due to the amount of weeds floating in the lake. I had to basically abandon using boards because they where fouled with weeds almost as soon as they where set. I tried switching to jet divers instead of body baits and they just kept floating up. So we had to resort to a dipsy and down rigger progam so we could just keep checking them for weeds. We boated this crew their cooler of fish using hit sticks, j7 and j9 rapala and stinger spoons color today was chartreuse and pink. 2.5 mph was best. 0/40, 1.5/55, 3.0/70 and rigger at 30 down did the job. Worst amount of weeds I’ve seen on the lake in a long time. Here is a pic of some of their catch today.
