Made the long trek east from Sandusky bay to about halfway between Huron & vermillion to 43-45fow. There were a few boats sprinkled out there and the ff was lighting up so we gave it a go. Could not keep the 10-14” walleyes off the line so we packed up and moved north hoping to find a pack of boats & bigger fish. It was a ghost land by 11:30 so we eventually stopped maybe 3-4 miles south of the border, there were much fewer marks but hoping it was quality not quantity. Still were catching a lot of throwback walleye so it was essentially a waste of time and gas. Eventually we did start putting fish in the box & finished with 10 16-18” walleye. If we would’ve checked our boards every 15 min we prob would’ve limited out bc it seemed like we were dragging fish the entire time. We were about a mile or 2 west of the dumping grounds south of the buoy. Watermelon spoon on a 40TT 75 feet back produced the best. Was a long and painful boat ride back to the dock straight into the teeth of 2-4s out of the SW.
