Heavens no. We are still cracking on that goofball that could do no wrong. I think he provided us with amusement for the entire summer. I think it is great to encourage the release of females. It is examplary for captains to encourage clients to do so. I don't think anyone feels you are braggin. Just telling us about a good on the water.

    Default Jiggy

We have caught fish on a purple head with white and silver tinsel jig. I think they do provide something different for the fish to eyeball.

    Default Blade baits

Anyone doing any good on blade baits? I figured with the lake all stirred up/muddy, that blades would be hot.

    Default blades OK

Blades work OK, clear or muddy water. Got a couple on blades when the water was muddy and cold couple weeks ago. I think jigs will do fine this weekend with the warm weather and a better slug of fish up on the reefs now.

I went out last Friday and Saturday, and caught one on a purple hair jig, and 4 others on blade baits. I have had more luck with blades, probably b/c I use them more, but il keep a pole rigged with a hair jig. You said the walleyes are moving up on the reefs, so are they still in pre-spawn?

    Default spawning

I think they're full on the spawn now. This weekend and next week would certainly be moving us to the peak of that action, I believe. Been a bit slow prior to last weekend due to extremely cold and dirty water. Lot of fish were sulking off the reefs.

    Default Blades

I fished last weekend also and was using two rods, one with a blade and the other was a purple hair jig/minnow. I caught 7 fish and only one was on the jig. Never used a blade that much before, but after being out two weeks ago, I couldn't seem to get a bite, and others were using blades around me catching fish, so I bought one. I now have bought three more and will be out this weekend again. But I will still try the jig and minnow to see what they prefer.
