Another factor is wind direction. The walleye are in close to shore through April, on and around the reefs and shoals. If there are high winds but out of the southwest, south, or southeast, you can find areas to fish within 1/2 - 1 mile from shore in the lee. You can get decent to limit catches in some of these areas. So keep that in mind. As always be ready to change plans (different launch ramp) and be able to get off the water quickly if necessary.
And if you can't fish the Lake for a day the Maumee and Sandusky Rivers are an option. Maumee for a larger boat, out in front of Perrysburg.Last edited by West Basin; 03-25-2022 at 10:28 AM. Reason: add info
