Jigging
How is the western basin looking. Had to have an emergency surgery and haven't been up to look at the lake. Would love to try some jigging. Thank you for any feedback

Re: Jigging
The real cold weather and winds starting Friday and running through this morning shut everything down. Lake water temperature is just a few degrees above freezing, around 34-35 degrees. This cold snap kept it there and probably dropped the water temp a little, say half a degree or so depending on location (which for the Big Lake is a lot in two days). Walleye are staging near the reefs area, but the water temperature has to get up to near 40 before the major spawning starts. When the water temp gets to 38-39 degrees on the reefs and shallow areas, the jig bite will really begin. We'll have to wait until enough people get out (probably next weekend, weather permitting) and try it before we know. But I wouldn't expect a lot of success jib fishing just yet. But there will be some.
