Default Perch Report 7/27/21. North of Catawba

2 man limit of 60 perch and 1 bonus walleye today 2 miles north of Catawba. 27 ft of water. Shiners on straight inline rigs- Sinker- hook about 3 inches above- second hook 10 inches above first. Very light bite for us with most bites coming just as line tightened from bottom. Fished 9-1:45pm. 24 lbs at cleaners. Threw back about 15 perch that were under our 8 inch minimum. Average 9 inches. Biggest 12 inches.

    Beautiful day on Lake Erie

Nice going. That's the area that was hot at this time last year. I made some rigs like what you was using. Be up next week. Was you using emeralds or Goldie's.

Emerald shiners from Jennettes on Catawba. Nice size. We were cutting in 3's.

I believe he is referring to south of green island. When we got them last year it was about in between Catawba and South bass island.

Badboards is correct on the location. About halfway between Catawba and Green. D can was a few miles west of us and we could see boats there including a headboat from PC. We stopped short of a pack of boats when we could see fish on our sonar. Other boats were closer to Green and we heard reports of a perch bite around Rattle Snake Island. We also had some very good Walleye marks in the area we fished.
