    Default Trolling question

When pulling big boards and using spoons or harnesses, do you use dipsy’s or tru-trips or something else?

Tru Trip 40s is what most people use with big boards

If you want to run a pair of dipsy rods per side in addition to some big board lines, the jet 30Â’s have a shallower dive curve than your dipsy on #3 setting. I carry both jet 30 and trutrip 40 and prefer trutrip 40 if not running dipsy lines, but will use the jet 30 when running dipsy because the jet 30 lines can pass over top of running dipsy lines. A trutrip 40 dives deeper than a dipsy on #3 setting and will tangle with it when you try to run it out the tow line. You can mix a single dipsy on zero or 1 setting with trutrip 40 board spread without fear of tangles.
