I use Shimano Talora 7 foot one piece rods with Medium Light Action (TLA-70ML) and love them. I use Okuma Coldwater reels (CW-203) but might try the low profile Convector reel on the new poles i just ordered.

I buy the rods Craig at Erie Outfitters recommends and sells. 8' long Diawa or Okuma medium action 12-20 pound test rods.
But last night I looked at the ones he sold me in January, 7' long medium diawa 10-16 pound line.
