Went to Crane Creek this morning to check the ice.
We walked out hitting the ice about every 10 ft. with a spud bar and drilling every 50ft. The new ice along the shoreline is averaging 6” thick.
Only went out about 150 yards and it stayed consistent, clear ice 6” thick.
Didn’t go any further due to time constraints but will give it another look on Wednesday.
im thinking the thicker ice is out about a mile or so. Forgot the binoculars but it looks like a big area of shove ice around a mile out.
Hize.
