Shiner scales
Does anyone have a special cleaning product or technique to get shiner scales off of rods and reels. Alot of my rods are looking rough with all that glitter on them. Lol.

I use simple green soap. Spray and let soak for 15 minutes. I scrub the area with one of the blue non scratch sponges soaked with simple green. Really cleans the cork handle well also.

If you put the minnows in a bag and put them on ice they don't lose a bunch of scales on your hands and rods. Bonus is you dont need a bucket and as long as you keep them iced they stay hard like fresh live minnows. We never use live anymore!

I just use a damp rag and my fingernails. Its not a quick way but it works for me. I like to keep my equipment clean so I try to not let them get to thick. Getting them off cork is a little more work.

Dawn dishwashing soap and a toothbrush works too. Key is to let them soak and soften up
