jig fishing on windy day
Do you cast jig into wind to control speed? The head boats don't always anchor and you can get a pretty severe drift on windy day.

jig fishing
The idea is to vertical jig off the bottom either side of boat will work just be sure your feeling the bottom when you dip down after a few bumps on the bottom you will get the right feel walleye will often hit on the fall so any bump or illregular feeling you get can be a fish so be sure to set the hook ,the fish are very slow in the cold water so work the jig as slowly as possible if the boat is drifting to fast you will miss a lot of fish some boats have a drift sock but the larger boats dont so if it is too windy you may be moving faster than optimum try the other side of boat if possible and cast as far as you can and jig back towards the boat this will slow down your presentation a little just keep the lure on the bottom and bounce it along this time of year, its tough but very rewarding

That's the ticket Mike! Drift Socks and keep that jig on the bottom. Just skip it across the bottom. I see so many guys jerking their rod in a hard upward position about 2 feet. This is not nessacary and not good for keeping minnows on your jig. Just ease it over those rock, you want to always feel that jig!!!

legal jiggin
Same here we have used blades and fished whith a high sweep but you can get a snagged fish, but when you use the slow method and feel the bottom you can catch them with a good legal bite
