When I tie my harnesses for trolling I use 20lb Seaguar flourocarbon.I tie them 6ft or 6.5ft usually off inline board and #2 tadpoles weight or straight off a dipsey.Make sure you loop a swivel over the end of swivel to prevent line twist.

I know a lot of people prefer 6' and up leaders, but I run a 4' leader to eliminate issues with landing fish. I also tie harnesses on cable only 12" long. I plan to switch to wire for the blades & beads with cable snells if and when I ever need to use harnesses again (been spoons only for 3 years). I used to use 17lb Seaguar fluorocarbon and tie the harnesses 6' long but got tired of retying over and over every time I'd catch a white bass and their raspy lips would wear the harnesses out.
