they are biting and eating all year. they will be where the food is. you need to try to mimic what they are eating that time of year

Hey brandon..tha ks for the advice. The problem is im not sure what they are eating early july..the guides insist the way to fish them is use the simple worm harness and backtroll.. That didnt work so i backtrolled crankbaits with bottom bouncers and worm harnesses, annd slow dealth rigs ect.. No a whole lot of action. I also thre vertical jigs whenever i seemed to mark fish..nothing.. We did fish in front of creek mouths that had lots of weeds..(i looked at google earth to confirm that). And nothing.. Puzzling

Try throwing jerk baits at dark as well as after dark. Target shallower water and edges of weed beds.... basically areas that walleye come up to feed at night. I use rapala x raps a lot in that situation.
