We used this method on live Shiners back when they were available, (don't know how it would work with Goldie's). Drain the water and bag a few dozen covered liberally with regular salt. Freeze. They stay hooked for 2 or 3 catches quite well, almost seemed to be mummified. Once they thaw don't try to refrozen.
