East Wind
Thinking of coming up for a long weekend. What do you think about the constant East wind we're going to be having over the next couple of days? Since it's not a strong wind (for the most part) do you think it will have a drastic effect on the fishing?

I grew up hearing wind from the east fishing the least. That was before the walleye were so stacked that you can almost walk across the lake on their backs. Find a big group of fish and get the bait in front of them. The hungry ones have been half way up. I did see thunderstorms Saturday and 15 to 25 mph winds out of the NE Sunday. That can be a game changer.

Thanks EyeHunter! Yeah, I saw the higher winds for Saturday after I posted. That can be a bummer!

My iwindsurf forcast has an easterly component from Friday through Tuesday.Do not think the wind will be strong enough to muddy water much.Do not think it would affect the catch rate much since those 2015 fish are being caught all over the lake quite easily. The forcast does have wind velocity in the upper teens, which should produce a small craft advisory.I would bet that NE-E wind direction holds up thru the weekend, but that velocity will change for sure...but to what is usually just good to two days out.Good place to hide is on the lee side of Kellies,Catawba and the bass islands from east winds.

NE winds might keep the walleye in the westbasin longer. cooler water, baitfish too.
I have had good days with east winds, just not over 15 mph.

Eriepro, That's just my signature. It appears when I post. Not looking for a fight. That's just my opinion, nothing more. Last time I checked I did have the freedom to state my beliefs, correct? Just like my freedom to bear arms. This is still the United States...till people tear it down.

eriepro?
Why would you quote me regarding gun crap?
Why would you comment about it at all? You don't have to read it or agree with it.
Your comments have nothing to do with fishing either.
