Hello there,

Just wondering if anyone close can say for sure if the water is open at Mazuriks or Catabwa Launches. I realize the docks are not in but that is not an issue.. This could help save me a trip..

Ha, Pretty Bad when you have to reply to your own post.. lol Looks like I will make a road trip over the next few days if the winds and rain subside a bit.. If I do, I will post what I find out.

Please report what you find out. I'm planning to make the drive from Dayton next weekend (Mar 3-4) hoping either or both of those ramps are open!

Cannot validate intel, BUT read on another site that catawba ramps were closed, and Mazurik still had 4 inches of ice. Did see Facebook post of 14# eye caught out of huron yesterday. Hope this helps

Thanks for the info.. Unless something has changed or there is a closed gate now. I launched my snow machine multiple times a Catabwa ramps in recent weeks. I could see pack ice blocking access to the water, but it has to be getting close to ice free. This especially at Mazuriks. Once again thanks for the info!!

Yesterday at 11:00 am Mazuriks was open Catawba has ice at launch ramp lot of open water but a lot of floating ice. Wind was 20knots out of the East at Millers wind sock.The lake was a mud hole

Thanks, thats what I was wondering about.. May have to give the rig a dip before long..... Ive caught them in some dirty water in the past..
